This magnificent resort is set over 30 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, decorative fountains and pavilions giving it a genuine Rajasthani ambience. The Hotel was built in 2002 and is a profusion of toadstool like turrets and cupolas, hand sculpted colums and graceful arches that lazily sprawls on the shores of Lake Picola, at night the whole building is illuminated this magical vision is reflected in the lake. This Hotel is perhaps the finest example of modern Rajasthani architecture.

Guest may arrive by boat and are escorted to the domed lobby whose focal point is a white marble fountain. Check in is a simple procedure and bags are whisked away to the awaiting accommodations. The whole building has been inspired by Rajasthan's crumbling Mewari originals: open air corridors flanked by and carved stone colums, domes covered in gold leaf, hand painted murals, pavilions and fountains. The Hotel offers excellent location being only 30 kms from the international airport and 3kms from the centre of the city it is perfect for either business or pleasure.

The Hotel boasts 82 Rooms 63 are deluxe rooms and 19 are superior deluxe suites and a Maharaja Suite. The Deluxe rooms provide a square meterage of 55m2 the deluxe suites offer 115m2 the Maharaja suites 250m2. All of the rooms house massive fireplaces, the deluxe rooms, all their own private walled courtyards, complete with silken parasols, table and chairs. The nineteen superior deluxe rooms open onto the semi-private moated pool that meanders past the terrace, from here guests either overlook either Lake Pichola or the wildlife sanctuary at the rear of the Hotel.
The Luxury suites have their own private infinity pool and tented dining areas. They provide an unparalleled view of the City Palace horizon and a telescope to gain a better view. The Jewel in the Udaipur crown is the Kohinoor Suite having its own fountained courtyards, massive private pool, sitting room fireplace and the master suite has its own wooden sauna. These suites also supply private staff and butler.
All of the rooms supply seating areas and study areas equipped with comfortable desk and chair complimented with high speed internet access and dual line phone. The King size beds are well dressed in fine linens, goose down pillows and scatter cushions, the rooms feature dark wood furniture and commissioned art, fresh flowers and colourful splashes introduced into the room via the soft furnishings.
The en suite marble bathrooms are grand affairs housing freestanding Victorian bathtubs, separate shower stalls and private walled courtyards, complimented with bathrobes, slippers and deluxe toiletries.
The facilities and amenities included are: personal bar, tea and coffee maker, satellite TV, CD and DVD player, electronic safe, hairdryer, air conditioner, multi line phone, voice mail, bottled water, turn down service and 24 hour room service.
The hotel provides for its guest two restaurants the Surya Mahal and Udai Mahal. The Surya Mahal is an informal 30's styled restaurant which is open all day for light western, Mediterranean and Thai fare.
The Udaimahal restaurant is a speciality Indian restaurant run under the expert guidance of executive chef Jean Christophe Basseau. It offers Rajasthani and North Indian cuisine its special menu has been developed following meticulous research of the royal kitchens of Rajasthan; it is only open for dinner. The restaurant is richly decorated in blue, green and gold scheme the domes overhead representing the night sky. This restaurant offers a perfect romantic setting.
The Hotel Bar is warm and inviting having hand knotted carpeting and comfortable seating positioned to allow guests magnificent views of the Lake and the City Palace, it offers an old world charm and hosts a collection of books on India and Rajasthan, games of chess, black gammon and scrabble are available. Afternoon Coffee or Tea may be taken here, in the evenings it offers the perfect rendezvous for late night cocktails, liqueurs or malt whisky.
One may take lunch around the Pool or in the Spa courtyard or guests may order around the clock to dine in their own room or on their private dining pavilion. Alternatively take a picnic out on a private gondola. The most decadent option is to hire the Bhagwanti Royal Barge with a group of friends, floating to the Islands across the lake fine dining is prepared by the onboard chefs.
